David Jan Voyles of Shawnee, Oklahoma passed away Friday, August 11, 2023, at home at the age of 66.

David was born on April 12, 1957, in Ada, Oklahoma to Denver and Patsy Foran. He was raised and later adopted by Ray M. Voyles Jr. David grew up in the Konawa and Del City areas. He graduated from Del City High School in 1975. After graduation, David joined the Army. There he traveled all over the world and all of the continents except Australia. He retired from the Army and worked various odd jobs before joining the National Guard.

One of those jobs was VA Police Officer. David and Danie were introduced by a coworker in 1993 while they were both employed by the VA Hospital. They married in 1994.

In 1999, they were blessed with their pride and joy, Devin.

David then retired from the Army National Guard giving him 26 years of service.

He then went to work at the Pottawatomie County Sheriff's Department – in the courthouse. Medical issues kept him from returning to work after surgery.

David was a proud member of the Absentee Shawnee Veterans Group and American Legion Post 88.

He is survived by his wife, Dani; Son, Devin; Sister, Susan Green, and her husband Shawn. Niece, Samantha Green and nephew, Joshua Green, and Aunt Carrol Maxwell. Mother-In-Law, Elaine Brown, and numerous friends.

A Celebration of Life will be Saturday, August 19,, 2023 at 1:00 PM at the Taproot Church, 22 East Dunloup Street, Shawnee, Oklahoma  74804.
