Jessica Deere Baker passed away peacefully in the Hillcrest Hospital in Tulsa on May 12, 2024, at the age of 49 years.

Jessica was born on November 19, 1974, in Shawnee, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Jessie and Levesta Deere. Jessica was blessed with one daughter Lauren on May 22, 1992, and two grandsons who she enjoyed spending time with. She is remembered as a kind and driven mother who encouraged her family to pursue their goals. Jessica graduated from OSU with her master's in art history. She worked as a pipeline controller for sixteen years and took pride in what she did. She married Abel Baker on July 16, 2020, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, who she loved dearly. She was a generous individual who loved God and church. She was passionate about helping youth groups and a positive light to those she encountered.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jessie Deere.

Jessica is survived by her mother, Levesta Deere; her daughter, Lauren Deere; her husband, Abel Baker; two grandchildren, Hunter, and Jessie Spears.

A celebration of Life service is scheduled for 1:00 pm on Monday, May 20, 2024, at Liberty Baptist Church, with Pastor Phil Thompson officiating. All are welcome to attend the celebration of Jessica's Life. Arrangements are under the direction of McElyea and Owens Funeral Group – Shawnee.
