Obituary

Kim passed from this earth on December 3, 2024 in Shawnee, OK. Kim went to be with the Lord after an extended battle with COPD. Kim was surrounded by her husband Richard; brother, Dave; her children, Danielle and Ruben, and her dear friend, Lori. She was born to Richard William Kuiper and Carol Sue (Norris) Jessup on May 10, 1963. Kim was predeceased by both of her parents and her sister, Karen Buche. She is survived by her husband Richard Lewis of the home; her two loving children, Danielle Pelzer (Kuiper) and Ruben and wife Anna Gonzalez; and by her two grandsons, Carson Pelzer and Teagen Pelzer who she cherished and loved immensely. Kim also had a number of dear friends and was a mother to many bonus children, all of which brought her an abundance of joy throughout her life on this earth. Kim was a very generous, kind, and loyal woman. She was the youngest of five children. She often reminisced about how much fun she had growing up with her four siblings, Rick, Karen, Mike, and Dave. Often she told stories of growing up on Cline Avenue playing tag in the barns, swinging on ropes, and playing in the hay. Kim was a very caring and empathetic woman, working as a Nurse's Aide and Home Health Aide prior to moving to Oklahoma. Once moved to Oklahoma, she married her husband Richard Lewis, took on being a mother to four total children, working two jobs, and making sure her family was fed, clothed, and always comfortable. Kim enjoyed the outdoors and loved to go camping, fishing, and hunting with her family and friends. Kim was very creative and artistic. She would often design house plans over and over, for her future log cabin in the woods. Kim worked as a floral designer and created the most beautiful and timeless floral designs in the forms of wreaths and home decor. In the last decade of her life, Kim's greatest source of fun came in the form of her grandchildren Carson and Teagan, whom affectionately called her "Piggy". The most exciting moment of 2024 for Kim was the announcement from Ruben and Anna of her third expected grandbaby, coming in March of 2025. KIm lived a happy life and her legacy of love and kindness will continue on through those who knew such a lovely lady. A memorial service for Kim will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at Taproot Church, 22 E. Dunloup Street in Shawnee, with Dr. Keith Ward officiating. Services will be under the direction of McElyea & Owens Funeral Group. The family has designated Rock Creek Baptist Church. 44900 Hardesty Road in Shawnee as appropriate for memorial contributions.
