Opal Faye Gressett of Harrah, Oklahoma, passed away on February 22, 2024, in Harrah, Oklahoma, at the age of 84 years.
Opal Faye Gressett was born on July 26, 1939, in Antlers, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of James Ewing and Emma Euginia (Chrismon) Little. She grew up in Antlers, Oklahoma until the age of twelve and she moved with her family to Frederick, Oklahoma, where she attended Frederick Public Schools. She married Ruben Gressett Sr., on December 25, 1954, in Vernon, Texas, and they made their home in Livingston, California; In 1959 they moved to Emeryville, California.1964 they moved to Florida, and in 1965 they moved to Martinez, California. She served her family as a homemaker. In 1970 she began a Janitorial service cleaning houses. In 1976 they moved to Antioch, California. In 1989 Ruben passed away and she retired from the janitorial service continuing to make Antioch, California her home. In 1993 she moved to Elk City, Oklahoma. In October 2022 she moved to Harrah, Oklahoma. She attended Full Gospel Concord, California for over thirty years, she also attended Grand View Assembly of God Church in Elk City, Oklahoma. Later she attended Grace Church in Choctaw. She enjoyed word search puzzles and loved spending time with her family.
She also preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Elsie and Doris; five brothers, Leon, Harold, Hubert, Ray, and Vernon; one grandchild, Christine Houston; and one son, Gary Gressett.
She is survived by two daughters, Marsha Rodriguez of Harrah, and Kathy Houston of Harrah; and one son, Ruben Lee Gressett of Harrah; nine grandchildren, Shavol Gressett of Arizona, David Rodgriguez and wife Jennifer of Bakersfield, California, Jerrod Gressett and wife Priscilla of Arizona, Roxanne Cabral of Kentucky, Danielle Rodriguez of San Diego, California, Alicia Martin and husband Adam of Harrah; Lee Houston and wife Tori of Yukon, and Eddie Evans of Midwest City, Oklahoma; sixteen great grandchildren, Demitrius, Tyler, Blake, Tara, Joshua, Caleb, Jaidyn, Lorelai, Xavian, Michael, Aiden, Emma, Jax, Nicole, Nora, and Baby Martin; five great great grandchildren, Tanner, Weston, Benjamin, J'amari, and Baby Gressett; one brother, Charles Little of Wichita, Kansas.
