Patsy Nadine (West) Sims passed away on Sunday, August 27, 2023 in Shawnee at the age of 92. Patsy was born on September 12, 1930 in Chickasha, Oklahoma to Monroe West and Bernice (Stone) West. Patsy grew up and attended school at and graduated from Mountain View School. Patsy married the love of her life, Harold Emmett Smith, and remained happily married until Harold's death. She was employed by TG&Y for several years and then worked at Wal-Mart as an inventory clerk before retiring with over 20 years of faithful service in their operations. Patsy attended First Christian Church in Shawnee until her health prohibited her from attending further. Patsy was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother and she will be missed by the many people that knew and loved her. She is preceded in death by her mother and father; her husband Harold Sims; a brother, Gary West; a grandson, Jeremy Sims; and a stepson, Jonathan Sims. Patsy is survived by her four sons Darrell Sims and wife Carolyn of Shawnee, Gerald Sims of Shawnee, Ken Sims of Yukon, and Keith Sims and wife Melissa Sims of Midwest City; her sisters, Mavis Hinch of Chickasha, June Pearcy of Cleveland, OK and Carolyn McDonald of Chickasha; and by five grandchildren, Randy Sims, Carrie Sims, Dalton Sims, Austin Sims, and Nash Sims. Following cremation a private memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of McElyea & Owens Funeral Group of Shawnee.
