Anna Marie Mansch, a resident of Shawnee, passed from this life on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at the age of 82. Anna was born on March 1, 1944 in Pekin, Illinois to James Michael Fitzanko and Wilma Marie (Smith) Fitzanko.
It was in Illinois that she met and married an Air Force service man, Gary Lee Mansch in 1966. They moved to Sacramento, California to be near family and lived there for 7 years. After Sacramento, the family moved to Clovis, New Mexico. It was there that her family became members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Anna was a lifelong member and enjoyed being of service to others. She eventually settled in Oklahoma. Family was incredibly important to Anna. She loved being a mother to her daughter; but was especially thrilled to become a grandmother and great grandmother. She was an accomplished homemaker and she was an amazing example to friends and family alike.
She is preceded in death by both of her parents; 2 brothers, Larry Fitzanko and James Fitzanko; sister-in-law, Elke Fitzanko; a grandchild, Michael Wood; and both her paternal and maternal grandparents.
She is survived by her daughter, Cherie Dickerson and husband Layne of Choctaw; a brother, Steve Fitzanko and wife Coleen of Illinois; 3 grandchildren, Merriah Wood of Shawnee, Marissa Wood of Midwest City, and Melissa Wood of Midwest City; and two great grandchildren, Jace Wood Brown of Shawnee and Tristen Wood of Meeker; as well as other extended family and many good friends.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, March 14, 2026 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Shawnee.
