Caroline Dunn "Charlie" Obituary

Caroline Elizabeth Dunn, affectionately known as Charlie, was born on January 5, 1948, in Dayton, Ohio.  She passed away peacefully on September 21, 2024, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, at the age of 76.

Caroline grew up in Dayton before moving to Oklahoma.  As a small child, she watched the movie “Oklahoma,” and from that moment, she dreamed of living in the state.  A pioneering spirit, she became one of the first female students to attend Job Corps in Guthrie in 1966, where she studied drafting.  It was there that she met Jimmy while he was fishing at a pond behind the Job Corps facility; they were married on July 2, 1967.

After her marriage, she moved to Oklahoma City and later settled in McLoud.  Her career included positions at Altec Lansing and General Motors, where she worked as an inspector until her retirement in 1989.  Caroline also pursued her passion for healthcare by studying nursing and phlebotomy at Oklahoma City Community College.

A vibrant individual, Caroline had many interests, including bowling, cooking, and traveling.  She enjoyed playing slots and hidden object games and had a fondness for true crime stories.  A nature enthusiast, she found joy in photography, capturing the beauty of the sky, butterflies, flowers, and her favorite bird, the cardinal.  Family gatherings brought her immense happiness, and she cherished the time spent with her beloved husband, Jimmy.

Caroline is preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy and Travis Kiesewetter; her brother, Lester Kiesewetter; sister-in-law, Kay Kiesewetter; and her son, James Dunn.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Jimmy J. Dunn of McLoud; her brother and sister-in-law, Leo and Susie Kiesewetter of Norman; her brother, Leonard Kiesewetter of Eufaula; sister-in-law Betty Rutland of Mississippi; brother-in-law John Dunn of Texas; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Larry and Edna Dunn of Oklahoma City; her son, Travis Dunn of McLoud; daughter Tamela Mallory (Dunn) and son-in-law Roy Mallory of Lexington; daughter-in-law Donna Dunn of Blanchard; and daughter Dorothy Dunn and son-in-law Danny Dominguez of Newalla.

Caroline was a proud grandmother to Chris Mallory, Amanda Mallory and Scott Duncan, Haskell and Jennifer McRavin III, William McRavin, Heath and Brittany McRavin, Bobbie and Levi Sanders, Dustin and Danielle Conway, Victoria Sechrist (Dunn) and Dakota Campos, Dustin and Ashtin Dominguez, and Jordyn Dominguez.  Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren: Derek Duncan, Camreigh Duncan, Kaiden McRavin, Kash McRavin, Eli Sanders, Zoey Sanders, Axel Dominguez, Lola Dominguez, and Lilith and Oliver Campos.  Additionally, she will be remembered by numerous nieces and nephews and all those who loved and cherished spending time with her.
