Chad David Dean

Chad David Dean, a resident of Shawnee, Oklahoma passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at the age of 50. Chad was born on June 15, 1973 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Ronnie Dean and Cathy (Finley) Berkstresser.

Chad grew up in Shawnee and attended Shawnee Public Schools and he graduated from Shawnee High School in 1992. Chad was an active BMX racer and loved a dune buggy which he took great pride in its ownership. He also did some modeling as a young man. Chad was a proud member of the Citizens Potawatomi Nation. Following high school, Chad joined the US Navy and moved to San Diego, California. After his discharge from the Navy, he joined the US Army and he moved to Washington state. Chad loved his family dearly and he was a loving son, brother, father and grandfather. He will be missed by his family and many close friends.

He is preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; and his cousin, Justin Dean.

Chad is survived by his father, Ronnie Dean of Tecumseh; his mother, Cathy Berkstresser of Shawnee; a daughter, Tezzie Pierce and spouse Rodrick Malone of Shawnee; two sons, Mason Dean of Dallas, TX and Zain Pierce of Shawnee; cousins, Blake Dean and Annalisa Beal of Tecumseh; three grandchildren, Arlo Fowler, Goldie Malone, and Sunny Pierce, all of Shawnee; by other extended family and many good friends.

The family has indicated there will be a memorial service for Chad which will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of McElyea & Owens Funeral Group.
