Charles Edward James of Shawnee entered to be with his Lord and Savior on February 21, 2023, in Shawnee at the age of 76 years.
Charles Edward James was born on February 4, 1947, in Sacramento, California. He was the son of Clarence and Rachel (Newell) James. He
grew up in Shawnee attending public schools in Shawnee. He worked on a farm and began his career as a truck driver. He later moved to Seminole. where he met the love of his life Eunice Gore on August 5, 1982, and they made their home in Seminole. following his retirement from trucking he and his family moved to Shawnee where he entered the ministry as the pastor of Living Faith Fellowship a coop of Our Father's Helpers ministry. He enjoyed fishing, he was avid in helping. the homeless riding motorcycles and loved spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Clarence and Rachel James. one grandson, Michael Ryan Helt; two sisters, Brenda White, and Linda Gore Henington; his father and mother-in-law, Shorty and Margaret Gore; Lynn and Sheila Gore; one brother, two brothers in law, Darrell Lee, Jim Jackson; and his nieces and nephews, Joanie Mooney, LeRonda Pitts, and Quinton Pitts Jr.
He is survived by his wife of forty years, Eunice M. (Gore) James; five daughters, Tammy James and partner Jack Barton of Perkins, Oklahoma, Tiara Ward and husband Gideon Ward of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Izzy James of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Amaziana James of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Linda James of Okmulgee; four sons, Boo James, Shawnee, Oklahoma, Korrey James and partner Sage Attebery of Francis, Oklahoma, Correy Bennett of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Michael James of Okmulgee; four sisters, Sharon Ashbrook of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Mary Patterson of Reno, Nevada, Bonnie James of Reno, Nevada, Mary Konwerski and husband John of Tecumseh; six sisters-in-law, Maggie Kilgore and husband Richard of Wewoka, Oklahoma, Della Pitts and husband Dwain of Saint Louis, Oklahoma, Hazel Jackson of Tupelo, Oklahoma, Frances Monks of Bowlegs, Oklahoma, Katie Lee of Wewoka, Oklahoma, Margaret Jackson of Wewoka, Oklahoma; three brothers, Michael Lynn White of Seminole, Oklahoma, Buddy Gore and Donna of Seminole, and John Gore of Asher, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Memorial services are scheduled for Saturday, March 4, 2023, at 2:00 pm at the Living Faith Fellowship, 1101 East 10th Street, Shawnee, Oklahoma 74804.
