Connie L. Akins of Dale, Oklahoma, passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2024, in Dale, Oklahoma, at the age of 66 years.
Connie L. Akins was born on July 14, 1958, in Shawnee, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Don and Leta (Mauldin) Hendershot. She grew up in Dale, Oklahoma, attending Dale Public Schools, graduating from Dale High School in 1976. Following her education, she married Guy Parker and they made their home in Shawnee, where Connie served her family as a homemaker, to this union three daughters were born Summer, Sheena, and Savannah. She later moved to Dale, Oklahoma. She married Bud Akins on June 29, 1998, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, and they made their home in Dale. She enjoyed flower gardening and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a member of the Dale United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Sheena Parker; one sister, Debbie Akins.
She is survived by her husband Bud Akins of Dale; two daughters, Summer Lilley and husband Cody of Shawnee, Oklahoma, and Savannah Berry and husband Derek, Edmond, Oklahoma; one son, Bryan Akins and wife Jessica of Dale, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Peyton, Parker, Eli, Bryson, Cason; one sister, Penny Claborn of Midwest City, Oklahoma, four aunts, Margaret Snyder, Dorothy Hendershot, Mary Lou Hendershot, and Joyce Mauldin; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
