Donovan Lee Abrams, a resident of Newall, Oklahoma passed away on February 17, 2024 in
Norman at the age of 54. Donovan was born on August 28, 1969 in Akron, New York to Dennis Lee Abrams and Patricia Lynn (Smith) Abrams Marlin.
Donovan attended high school in Nashville, Tennessee and graduated from Tecumseh High School. Following high school Donovan joined the US Navy where he faithfully served for two tours of duty. During those tours of duty he served in San Diego, California, worked aboard the USS Nimitz, and served in Taiwan and Japan before being discharged in 1998. Donovan was a proud member of the Seneca Nation of Indians in New York and he belonged to the Deer Clan. After his military service Donovan was involved in management of several convenience stores, before working for Newton Wall Stores and at the Wrangler Plant in Seminole where he served as a warehouseman. Donovan loved playing softball with friends, playing fantasy football, and he enjoyed playing in pool tournaments.
Donovan was a loving son, brother, and uncle and he loved his family deeply. He will be missed by the many people who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his father, Dennis Lee Abrams; his paternal grandparents, Woodrow Abrams Sr and Dorothy Abrams; and his maternal grandparents, Lee Smith and Vera Smith.
Donovan is survived by his mother, Patrician Marlin of Shawnee; a sister, Melissa Lugo of Tecumseh; a brother, Scott Logan of Basom, New York; by numerous other aunts, uncles, and cousins as well as many good friends.
Following cremation, a memorial service will be held in New York at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of McElyea & Owens Funeral Group of Shawnee.
