Doris Faye Lyon

Doris Faye Lyon, a longtime resident of Tecumseh, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at her home on March 1, 2022, at the age of 74. Doris was born on September 2, 1947, in Prague, Oklahoma, to Ralph and Oleta (Thompson) Montgomery. As a follower of Jesus Christ, she entered into her eternal home on Tuesday, March 1, with her husband Paul of 55 years by her side.

Doris married the love of her life, Paul Lyon on June 25, 1966, in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Doris loved big! If she spent any time with you, you were a forever friend and had a place in her heart. She enjoyed sewing with friends, family get-togethers and above all else she loved spending time with her grandkids. Doris was also an active member of a sewing club.

Doris is preceded in death by her mother and father, Oleta and Ralph Montgomery; her sister, Anita Erven; and a granddaughter, Chloe Barrick.

Doris is survived by her husband, Paul Lyon of the home; a son, Greg Lyon of Shawnee; a daughter, Michelle Williams and her husband Billy of Warner, Oklahoma; granddaughter, Sarah Stanberry and her husband Joshua of Shawnee; grandsons, Jesse Lyon of Blanchard and Chandler Barrick and wife Holly of Ward, Arkansas, and Cooper Barrick of Warner; great grandchildren, Lillie Lynch, Melody Stanberry,and Liam Stanberry; sisters, Kathryn Gray of St. Charles, Missouri and Betty Lobaugh of Tulsa; brother, Jackie Montgomery and wife Fran of Pueblo, Colorado; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, William and Mary Lyon of Shawnee; a sister-in-law, Sandra Burton of Bethel, and sister-in-law, Mary Pinkston of Shawnee.

Doris was a loving wife, daughter, mother and grandmother and she will be missed by the many people she called friends.

Viewing for Doris will be held on Friday, March 4, 2022, from 2:00pm until 8:00pm at McElyea & Owens Funeral Group, 5106 N. Harrison Street in Shawnee.

Funeral Services for Doris will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, March 5, 2022, at Liberty Baptist Church with Rev. Phil Thompson officiating. Burial will follow immediately at Garden Grove Cemetery under the direction of McElyea & Owens Funeral Group.
