Dorothy Marie Spruiell, known as Dot, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, September 22, 2025, in Harrah, OK, at age 85. The eldest of seven children born to Kenneth and Pauline Stewart, she was a natural born leader who supported her family with strength and grace.
Growing up she attended Choctaw and Mid - Del Schools. At the age of 16, she married Buell Lois Spruiell., they moved to Shreveport, Louisiana, where Buell was stationed at the Barksdale Air Force Base. They had three children together but later divorced. Despite the divorce, they continued to share a deep love for their children and grandchildren.
She made a warm, loving home for her family and pets. Sugar, Blue Eyes, Fancy, and Midnight were spoiled beyond belief. She loved gardening. Her yard was always a vibrant display of colorful blooms. She enjoyed crocheting and making her family gifts, from Christmas ornaments to house shoes. She had great stories, loved music and western movies, and before all of this, God came first. She had a beautiful voice, sang in the church choir, and loved to teach and entertain the children during Sunday school.
