Gary Cozart

Gary Dale Cozart Sr. of Shawnee passed away on September 7, 2022, in Shawnee at the age of 62 years.

Gary Dale Cozart Sr. was born on January 27, 1960, in Oklahoma City. He was the son of Francis Loren Cozart and Beverly Heartsill.

Gary grew up in Carrier Mills, Illinois and returned to Oklahoma in 1977, where he graduated from Meeker, Oklahoma. After graduation, Gary began his career in the oilfield where he worked for nearly 40 years before retiring from his position as a salesman in 2020.

Gary was known for his commitment to his career, often being described as a workaholic. However, he enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and building model cars in his spare time. Gary married Marie Alexander in 1978 in Meeker, Oklahoma and had two boys: Gary Cozart Jr. and Chris Cozart.

Gary is preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Beverly, wife Marie, and brother Loren Cozart.

Gary is survived by sons Gary (Amanda) Cozart of Shawnee, Chris (Alicia) of Tulsa, and grandchildren Braxton, Phannon, Brayden, Eli, and Maddox.
