Helen R. Perkins

Helen Rogene Perkins of Shawnee, Oklahoma, passed away on September 16, 2022, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, at the age of 80 years.

Helen Rogene Perkins was born on October 23, 1941, in Byars. She was the daughter of Vernie Ebenezer and Jessie Annie (Smith) Sloan, the baby of fourteen children. She grew up in Shawnee attending Shawnee Public Schools. While traveling to Lawton with her brothers, she met the love of her life Jerry Paul Perkins and they married on July 2, 1962, they spent fifty-nine years together and on April 10, 2021, he preceded her in death. Helen enjoyed traveling, cooking, watching soap operas, walking, and spending time with her grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; and twelve brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her son, Jerry Dale Perkins of Shawnee; her two daughters, Rhonda Gale Perkins of Shawnee, and Tammy Lynn Perkins of Shawnee; one brother, Donald Wayne Sloan of Shawnee; twelve grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.
