Ianna Lee Wabskie, age 22, passed away at her home in Noble, Oklahoma, on Sunday, June 8, 2025.
She was born on February 8, 2003, in Antigo, Wisconsin, to Clarice Renee Bates (Wabskie) and Michael Lance McAfee, Sr. Ianna spent her early childhood in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, before relocating to Oklahoma in 2009. Over the years, she also spent time in Kansas with her father and most recently lived for a year in Wisconsin, though the majority of her life was rooted in Oklahoma. She was a proud enrolled member of the Kickapoo Tribe in Kansas, and she was a firm believer in Christ.
A bright and accomplished student, Ianna was active in middle and high school athletics and consistently excelled academically. She graduated with honors in 2020 and was awarded a scholarship to Reed College in Portland, Oregon. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic interrupted those plans. In 2023, she attended the University of Oklahoma and, after taking time to travel across the United States, had recently decided to pursue a career as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
Ianna was known for her compassion, joyful energy, and creative spirit. A lover of animals and a vibrant soul, she followed her dream of acting and appeared in several films, including Killers of the Flower Moon, where she served as a stand-in for the lead role, as well as Twisters and Marvel’s Echo. Her interests extended to fashion, gaming, modeling, and make-up artistry. A driven and resourceful entrepreneur, she also launched her own mobile notary business.
Family was central to Ianna’s life. She shared a deep and loving bond with her brothers, Michael and Namatasa. Though siblings sometimes disagreed, their connection was unbreakable and filled with affection.
Ianna is survived by her mother, Clarice Renee Bates and husband Thomas Four Winds Bates of Noble; her father, Michael Lance McAfee, Sr and wife Vonessa Arpan of Horton, Kansas.; her brothers, Michael Lance McAfee, Jr. of Norman, and Namatasa Kenakuk of Noble; and her half-siblings from Michael Lance Sr.: Kaylee Pena of Horton, Kansas, Kaya McAfee of Fernley, Nevada, Aliyah McAfee Horton, Kansas, Alijah McAfee of Horton, Kansas, and Hunter McAfee of Horton, Kansas; A special bonus family member, Kristina Brock of Wanette, Oklahoma; her maternal grandparents, Lisa Zhuckkahosee Neopit, Wisconsin and Eugene “Sonny” Wabskie and his wife Cheryl of Kansas City Kansas; and her paternal grandmother, Mouse Medicine Horse of Horton, Kansas. She leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will hold her memory close to their hearts.
She was preceded in death by her uncle and namesake, Ian Zhuckkahosee; her paternal grandfather, Mike McAfee; and a beloved bonus family member, Charles Brock.
Ianna’s light, laughter, and love left a lasting imprint on all who knew her. She will be remembered for her warmth, vibrant creativity, and the joy she brought into the lives of others.
Visitation will be from 1:00pm till 4:00 pm Saturday, June 14, 2025, at McElyea and Owens Funeral Group.
