James “Squeaky” Griffin

March 29, 1963 – November 28, 2024

James “Squeaky” Griffin, 61, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2024, in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Born on March 29, 1963, in Bermuda to Ed and Thelma Griffin, Squeaky grew up in Altus, Oklahoma, where he began forging the connections and memories that would define his life.

Known for his infectious sense of humor and boundless charm, Squeaky had a gift for making people smile. Whether it was his quick wit or his trademark gag of flicking out his tooth, he never failed to bring joy to those around him. From a young age, he demonstrated a tireless work ethic in the oilfield, earning the admiration of his peers through his dedication and commitment to getting the job done right.

Squeaky’s life was a testament to perseverance and transformation. In 2024, he was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, marking a profound chapter in his spiritual journey. He also celebrated 10 years of sobriety, a milestone that reflected his inner strength and unwavering determination.

Above all, Squeaky cherished his family. He is survived by his wife, Theresa Griffin; his children, Jessica Breeding and her husband Timmer, Tylor Griffin and his wife Cally, and James Griffin; his grandchildren, Daisy, Emma, Reign, Claire, and Axl; his mother, Thelma Griffin; and his sister, Christine Dobson and her husband Wayne. His legacy also lives on through his extended family, including beloved nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Ed Griffin Sr.; his brother, Edward Griffin Jr.; and his sister, Deborah Arterburn.

Squeaky’s life will be celebrated on January 18, 2025, at a memorial service in Elk City, Oklahoma. The service will take place at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1700 W 7th St, Elk City, OK 73644, at 1 PM. Though he is no longer with us, his love, laughter, and indomitable spirit will forever be carried in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known him.
