James William Ward, a resident of Choctaw, Oklahoma, passed away on November 30, 2025, in a Midwest City hospital at the age of 81. James was born in Seattle, Washington, on February 1, 1944, to James William Ward and Rose Adeline (Humble) Ward.
James attended Sealth High School in Seattle, Washington. He worked as a Teamster in the beverage industry and retired after a faithful and devoted career. James married the love of his life, Margaret Jeanne (Stevenson) Ward, on August 22, 1964, in Des Moines, Washington.
James is preceded in death by his daughter, Cindy Dee, her husband Mark Dee, and his great-grandson Robert Wolf.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Ward; and his children: Mari Edson; Margaret Loiseau and husband Paul; and Susie Anderson and husband Jake; two sisters, Carol Ferguson and husband Sheldon, and Sharon Sharts and husband Russ; grandchildren: Jamie and Michael Cordova, Kiristen and Bryan Wolf, Alannah and husband Brian Cruz, Adrienne and Caleb Ramirez, Alexa Anderson, Steven Edson, Zachary Edson, Joey Loiseau, and Brynne Loiseau; Great Grandchildren, Aiden Ramirez, Samantha Pearson, Alyvia Cordova, Jackson Wolf, Colton Wolf, and Joaquin Cruz.
A viewing for James will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2025 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at McElyea & Owens Funeral Group, 5106 North Harrison Street in Shawnee, OK. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
