Janice Mae Peters formerly of Enid, Oklahoma, passed away on November 5, 2022, in McLoud, Oklahoma, at the age of 76 years.
Janice Mae Peters was born on April 26, 1946, in Mooreland, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Jesse Robert and Lula Mary (Wolf) Patterson. She grew up in Mooreland, Oklahoma, and graduated from Cheyenne Valley High School in 1964. Following her education she moved to Enid, Oklahoma, where she worked washing parts in an automotive garage since she loved cars. In May of 1971, she drove to Las Vegas, Nevada in a 1964 Plymouth Fury Convertible to Marry William Lee Peters at the Silver Bell Wedding Chapel on May 17, 1971. They made their home in Enid and she began working for Saint Mary’s Hospital in Housekeeping for seventeen years. She cherished time with her family and loved spoiling her grandchildren. She enjoyed bowling and listening to music ‘especially Elvis”.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William L. Peters; her parents, Jesse and Lulu Patterson; sisters, Roberta May Walker, Bessie Lou McDowell, Fay Louise Bouse, and Frances Mary May; and one brother, Robert Jesse Patterson.
She is survived by her son, Mark Patterson and wife Bonita of Aline, Oklahoma; daughter, Marla Valentine and husband Charles of Norman, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Jessica Patterson of Waukomis, Kristina Zimbelman of Aline, Brittany and Justin Conway of Aline, Allison, Amber and Logan Valentine of Norman, Oklahoma; great-granddaughters, Madison, Kinsley, and Bailey Zimbelman of Aline; Aubrey Valentine of Moore, Jordan Pruegert of Newcastle; Nova and Remi Robbins of Waukomis, and Laikynn Valentine of Norman, Oklahoma; great-grandsons, Zeppelin Zimbelman of Aline; Greyson Stevens of Moore; Sebastian and Cooper Valentine of Norman, Oklahoma; and her sisters, Edra Lois Shuck of Yukon, and Leola Pearl Edwards of Fairview, Oklahoma.
