Jay Howard Anderson

Jay Howard Anderson, a resident of Shawnee, passed away at his Shawnee home on Tuesday, August 20, 2024. Jay was born on August 12, 1976 in Edina, Minnesota to Leslie Carl Anderson and Cynthia Marie (Zimmerman) Anderson.

Jay worked as a tree trimmer and he was known for his tree climbing activities. He has worked locally as a tree trimmer and several tree companies were the recipient of Jay's climbing and trimming abilities.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Cynthia Anderson who passed away in 2017; and by his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Jay is survived by his father, Leslie Anderson of Spokane, WA; his son, Gage Anderson and wife Hailey of Shawnee; five brothers, Joseph Anderson of Harrah, Joshua Anderson of Pennsylvania, Jeffrey Anderson of Pennsylvania, Raymond Anderson of Pennsylvania, and Buck Anderson of Pennsylvania; a sister, Sherry Anderson of North Dakota; a granddaughter, Tailynn Anderson of Shawnee; a grandson, Imre Anderson of Shawnee; by numerous other extended family and many good friends.

Viewing for Jay is set for Monday, August 26, 2024 from 2pm until 5pm at McElyea & Owens Funeral Home, 5106 N Harrison in Shawnee, OK 74804.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
