Joyce Ann (Darrow) Crook, a resident of McLoud, Oklahoma, passed from this earthly life and into the presence of God on July 9, 2024 at her home in McLoud at the age of 81. Joyce was born on Valentine's day February 14, 1942 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Alonzo Martin Darrow and Mary Ellen (Guffee) Darrow. She grew up in the Oklahoma City area and attended Choctaw High School.
Joyce worked for approximately 30 years at General Motors Plant in Oklahoma City, starting in the body shop until she retired after working in the paint line. She especially loved to travel the world on cruise ships. Some of her most favorite stops were Belize, Jamaica, the Cayman Islands, Hawaii, the Panama Canal, the Greek Islands, Rome, Mexico, the Grand Canyon, New Mexico and Alaska.
She was preceded in death by her husband Delmas Crook; her son, John Edward; a daughter, Ann Stephens; brothers, Damond Gilliland, Danny Darrow, and Max Thornton; and her parents, Alonzo Martin and Mary-Ellen Darrow affectionately called "MurMur".
Joyce is survived by sons, Billy and Bobby Stephens; a son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Kimberly Stephens; a son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Pam Crook; a daughter and son-in-law, Sonya and Matt Acuff; and a daughter, Cassie Workman; a sister and brother-in-law, Debbie and David Eastep; a sister and brother-in-law, Jean and James Horner; grandchildren, Nickie and Michael O'Brien, Kristina Stephens, Charlie Stephens, Kellie Crook, Justin Stephens, Chris and Kristen Franklin, Kenneth Stephens, Nathan Stephens, Katelynn Vanburen, Sarah and Adam Acuff, and Brandon Workman; Great Grandchildren, Peyton Stephens, Joshua and Hailey Patterson, Brooklynn and Madilynn Pierson, Makayla and Mikey O'Brien, Braxton and Bennett Franklin, Addilynn Vanburen and Ashylnn Bomboy; a Great Great Grandchild, Hunter Junior Shaw; and of course her beloved companion of 10 years, Jack Gaines; as well as other extended family and many good friends.
