Katherine Moody

Katherine Ramsey-Moody, 82, of Shawnee, passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at her home. She was born November 16, 1939, in McAlester, Oklahoma, to Mr. and Mrs. Winford J. Ramsey.

She married the love of her life on September 24, 1955, to Joe Franklin Moody in Collin, Texas.

She was greeted in Heaven by her husband, parents, her youngest son, Floyd, and her brothers Leon and Charles, brothers-in-law George, Jimmy, and Sister-in-law Barbara.

Survivors include her brother, Royal and sisters Alveda and Wanda of Texas, her daughters Kathleen of Norman and Mary of Tecumseh, Son and Daughter-n-law Joe and Bridget of Shawnee, 10 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, and 25 great-great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins and her pets of many years, her dog Bit, and her cat whisper.

She cherished every moment with her children, grandchildren, and many pets she took care of and loved over the years. She always enjoyed watching OU Sooners football and NFL games, especially the Dallas Cowboys. 

She loved the Lord, and her favorite scripture was Psalms 23. 

 Katherine's Celebration of Life is scheduled for Saturday, April 23, 2022, at 11:00 am at the Faith Community Church of God Church located at 43005 Macarthur Street, Shawnee, Oklahoma. Arrangements are under the direction of McElyea and Owens Funeral Group 5106 North Harrison, Shawnee, Oklahoma.
