Larry Dean Rogers "Dean" was born in Hoisington, Kansas on February 2nd, 1961 to James William Rogers and Delores (Schlegel). He passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 in Norman, OK at the age of 63.
At the early age of 8, Dean moved with his family to Woodward, Oklahoma and he grew up and attended school there. Dean later attended the University of Central Oklahoma where he graduated in 1993. Throughout his life, Dean enjoyed talking about cats and cars and could start a conversation about anything with anyone. He also loved gardening. Dean found great joy in his job at the Hope Community Services in Oklahoma City where he worked as a rehabilitation and wellness counselor. Dean helped to serve and inspire others through his counseling. Most of all, Dean loved his family. He was a loving son, brother, and uncle and he will be missed by the many people who knew and loved him.
Dean is preceded in death by his mother and father, James W Rogers and Delores Rogers; his aunts, Ila Fair, Bernice Clingenpeel, and Wilma Schlegel; a grandmother, Pauline Schlegel; and an uncle, Charles Clingenpeel.
Dean is survived by his sister, Lori Waddle and husband Wade Waddle of Woodward; a niece, Haylee Waddle of Woodward, OK,; a step-sister, Roxanne Stavig and husband Doug of Rogers, Arkansas; 2 stepbrothers Jimmy Rogers and Bradley Rogers of Madill, OK; along with several cousins and close friends and coworkers that he loved dearly.
Following cremation, the family has indicated a memorial service will be held at a later date.
The family has designated that donations can be made in Dean's name to the Central Oklahoma Humane Society, 7500 N. Western in Oklahoma City, OK 73116 or by logging on to okhumane.org.
