On Monday, August 11, 2025, Linda Nell (Eeds) Smith lost her life to a long battle with cancer. Linda was a long-time member of the Prague Community. For 59 years she was known to many as a hair magician. She was a friend, a wife, a mother, but mostly she was Grammy.
Linda was born February 7, 1950, to William J. Eeds and Lorene (Turner) Eeds in Seminole, Oklahoma. In 1968 Linda enjoyed dancing at a nearby club with her friends and that’s where she met a slick looking man from Prague named Samuel Lee Smith, better known as Sammy. They soon married on March 16, 1968 for the small price of $16.00, which is all it should cost for a marriage that lasted for 58 years. Together they built a home with four children: son Lee and daughter-in-law Caroline Smith of Erie, Colorado; son-in-law Gary and daughter April Wallis of Paden; son-in-law Benny and daughter Cara Davis of Paden; and son Mikhy Smith of Prague.
Linda was a loving cookie and cake baking Grammy to Autumn Bryant and husband Jake, Summer Wallis, Tonya Davis, Trip Davis, Tucker Kornele, Ashton Broyles, Audra Smith, Will Smith, Emma Smith and two great-grandsons, Weston Bryant and Brixon Mooney. Linda was a sister and an aunt to many nieces and nephews.
She enjoyed painting ceramics, puzzles, baking, and cooking her one-of-a-kind recipes. She was a tell it like it is kinda lady with a bold personality and she will be truly missed by all that knew her.
A Celebration of her Life will be held at a later date.
