Lloyd Dennis Wilburn, Jr. passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2023 in an Oklahoma City, OK hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Dennis was born on March 11, 1954 in Seminole, Oklahoma to Lloyd Dennis Wilburn Sr. and Helen Roberta (O'Neal) Wilburn. Dennis grew up in the Seminole area and attended Seminole Public Schools, graduating from Seminole High School.
Following his High School years, Dennis attended college and later worked in several food service positions in this area. He loved playing video games, listening to music, and he was an avid OU Sooners fan. Dennis was a long-time member of the First Assembly of God Church in Seminole. Dennis loved spending time with his friends and he loved his family dearly. He was a loving son, brother and uncle and he will be missed by the many people who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Lloyd Dennis Wilburn Sr and Helen Roberta Wilburn; by his maternal grandparents, Harvey and Susie Wilburn; and his paternal grandparents, H.T. and Roberta O'Neal.
He is survived by his brother, Steve Wilburn and wife Tammy of Shawnee; and 2 nephews, Tyler Wilburn and wife Kaylee of Shawnee and Blaine Wilburn of Oklahoma City; and by a great nephew, Coleson Wilburn; as well as other extended family and many good friends.
The family has designated the American Cancer Society, 3380 Chastain Meadows Parkway NW, Suite 200, Kennesaw, GA 30144 as appropriate for memorial contributions.
Following cremation, a memorial service will be held on Friday, November 3, 2023 at 10:00am at Taproot Church, 22 E. Dunloup Street in Shawnee. Arrangements are under the direction of McElyea & Owens Funeral Group of Shawnee.
