Lois Mae Thrasher Short

Lois Mae Thrasher Short was born May 29th, 1931 in Tecumseh, Oklahoma to Cecil and Sarah Smith. She was a graduate of Dale High School.

On October 31,1947, Lois married Loyd H Thrasher at Blackburn Chapel in Shawnee, OK. They had 2 daughters. She worked as a CMA at a Shawnee nursing home. Lois and Loyd had many years together until he passed away in 2005. She was later married to Donald Short for a brief time.

As a child, Lois helped her family by picking cotton and helping look after her younger siblings. Lois loved to travel and go fishing and camping. She also had a love of quilting, making many homemade quilts over the years. She loved the Lord and read her Bible and sang His praises all of the day.

Lois went to her heavenly home on May 12, 2025. She is preceded in death by her parents, husbands, 1 brother Junior Smith and 1 sister Lavada Noble and several nephews.

Those left to cherish her memory are 2 daughters Lucretia Teehee of Monett, Mo and Patricia Thrasher of Tecumseh, Ok. 4 grandchildren Pam McCreary of Ronan, Mt, Loyd "Jody" Geyer of Cromwell, Ok, Donna "Shelly" Pearce of Monett, Mo, and Tami Geyer of Maud, Ok. 8 great grandchildren, many great great grandchildren and 2 great great great grandchildren. 2 sisters Shirley Kolosick of MI and JoAnn Lonesky of SC., as well as many nieces, nephews, and other loved ones.

At her request, she will be cremated under the direction of McElyea & Owens Funeral Group of Shawnee. She will be laid to rest in a private burial at Dale Cemetery. The family would like to thank Shawnee Care Center and ACG Hospice.
