Loretta Simmons was known for her giving heart & infectious laugh. Loretta Ann Simmons
was born on May 14, 1956, in Hobart, OK to Harry Briggs Jr. & Lavern Briggs. She was one of 5
kids & knew how to give a mean headlock. She graduated from Sallisaw High School & went to
vo-tech for accounting. But her dream was to be a nurse.
She met the love of her life at 16, while working at Dairy Queen & they married July 6, 1974.
Ricky & Loretta were married 50 years & 10 months. From their marriage came 3 kids. Her
greatest joy was being a mom & a Mema.
Loretta loved the Lord fiercely. Her & Ricky have been members of Assembly of God
churches for 47 years. She served in numerous areas in the church, such as nursery, Rainbows
teacher, kids church, angel food ministry, & greeters.
Loretta had quite a few jobs. She made caps & gowns, Weebles, she rented cars, worked at
a temp agency, along with many more. She always made the best of her circumstances
wherever she was.
Loretta enjoyed scrapbooking, she liked hummingbirds, cardinals, & gingerbread men. But
mostly she just enjoyed visiting with her friends & family. She could be found laughing with her
best friends Angie Allen & her sister Evelyn Goodman.
Loretta was someone you could depend on, she was an excellent listener, she was deeply
devoted to family, and had a servant's heart. It’s said Ricky knew a lot of people, but Loretta
loved a lot of people.
Loretta was proceeded in death by her father Harry Briggs Jr. and her brother Jackie Briggs.
She is survived in death by her mother Edith Lavern Holloway, step father Tommy Hollway, her
sister Evenlyn Goodman, brother Larry Briggs, Jimmy Briggs & lots of nieces & nephews. She is
also survived by her husband Ricky Simmons, daughter Lucretia & spouse Bobby Landrith, son
Roy Simmons & spouse LeeAnn Simmons, daughter Harmony Simmons,& her beloved
grandkids Brandon Landrith, Lynna Landrith, Hadlee Simmons, Holden Simmons , & Henley

If you knew Loretta the one thing she would want is for you to know Jesus Christ as your
personal savior.
