Margaret Sewell

Maggie A. Sewell, a resident of Chandler, Oklahoma passed away in the early morning hours of June 13, 2024 in Chandler at the age of 77. "Maggie" was born Margaret Ann Neely on February 2, 1947 near Nowata, Oklahoma to David Ward Neely and Hazel B (Beard) Neely.

Maggie spent most of her working life as an accountant in a variety of capacities. Her last employment was with the Nowata County Treasurer's office where she worked for a number of years. Maggie was an avid reader, spent many hours involved with her son's activities including camp outs and athletics, enjoyed working and solving puzzles, and was successful as a general rule when she made trips to her favorite casinos. Maggie was also a longtime member of Disciple of Christ Church in Nowata.

However, most of all, Maggie was a loving daughter, sister, and mother and she loved spending time with her family. She is preceded in death by her father, David Ward Neely and her mother, Hazel B Neely.

Maggie is survived by her son, Joe Sewell and wife Tinker of Chandler, OK; a daughter, Gayle Cash of Moore, OK; by a brother, David W Neely, Jr. and wife Diane of Nowata, OK; four granddaughters, Kymberlee Simpson and husband Payton of Chandler, Kristin Bailey of Lindsey, OK, Kourtney O'Briant of Washington state; and Kayla O'Briant of Chandler, OK; by 7 great grandchildren; and by other extended family and many good friends.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. McElyea & Owens Funeral Group of Shawnee, OK is handling arrangements.
