Marilyn Theresa Dockrey

Marilyn Theresa Dockrey was born on October 27, 1953 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Ruby (Britt) Dockrey and Claud J Dockrey Jr. She passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2024 in Dallas, Texas following a long illness. Her daughter Amber Dockrey was by her side.

She lived in Shawnee, Oklahoma and attended local schools until May of 1967. She moved with her family to Richardson, Texas. She graduated from Richardson High School and attended Canyon Creek Presbyterian Church. After high school, she worked at various manufacturing companies in the area. She lived in the Dallas, TX area until her death. She had many friends in both the Shawnee, Richardson and Dallas areas.

She is survived by her daughter Amber Matthews Dockrey and her son Adrin Dockrey. She is also survived by her mother, Ruby Britt Bierly Saulsberry; and two sisters, Sherill Ball and her spouse Jerry; and Barbara McLaughlin and her spouse Larry. She had several nieces and nephews: Terry and Kelli Ball, Clint and Jennifer McLaughlin, Rachel and John Hudson, Daniel and Mira McLaughlin, and Tiffany Clay; and numerous great nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her father, Claud Dockrey Jr; her brother, Claud J Dockrey III; stepfathers Oscar Bierly and Robert Saulsberry; grandparents, Claud J and Willie F Dockrey Sr. and Robert Walter and Ethel B Britt, along with several cousins.

A memorial service and visitation will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2024 between 2pm and 4pm at McElyea & Owens Funeral Group, 5106 N Harrison in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
