In Loving Memory of Marla Ann Poauty
Beloved daughter, sister, mother, and friend
(March 1st 1988 – July 25th 2025)
Marla Ann Poauty, also lovingly known as "Pooky," was a fierce and gifted soul. From a young age, her natural talent in sports made her shine—whether it was basketball, softball, or anything competitive, she dominated with ease and grace. She graduated from Thunderbird Youth Academy with outstanding grades, and later attended Gordon Cooper Technology Center, where she earned her CNA certification.
Though life brought many challenges, Marla never lost her compassionate heart. She was a caregiver by nature, working as a CNA in elderly homes and always reaching out to those in need—even when she had little herself. She gave to the homeless, offered her time, and kept her warmth through it all.
Marla was the birth mother of four beautiful children. Marla’s love for them remained deep and enduring. Her spirit lives on through them.
She was a woman who made people feel seen and loved. Her presence was bold, unforgettable, and kind. Marla loved dancing and singing, her favorite color was pink, she adored Tootsie Rolls, loved chewing ice, and never turned down a plate of fried gizzards or a bag of fried pork rinds—small joys that made her uniquely Marla.
A celebration of her life will be held on August 11th, 2025, with a memorial service at Trinity Baptist Church at 1:00PM, led by the same pastor who baptized her long ago.
~Gone from our sight, but not from our hearts,
Your love remains though we've grown apart.
A gentle soul, now free from pain—
In Heaven’s arms, we’ll meet again.~
"Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God." – Matthew 5:8
