Mary Bell Obituary

Mary, Mary, quite contrary what an interesting mind she had. The stories she told, we never grew old, of listening to her tales. She may have had a normal job just making insurance sales but from colonel paprika to spilling milk in Eureka laughter always did prevail.

Her love for dolphins and Neil Diamond, had us listening to Sweet Caroline and Oh Mary, how we will miss you so, we wish you didn’t have to go. We know you are up in Heaven and have left a very sad eleven.

In her 76 years of life, she wore many hats- from t ball coach to chasing actual (made up) bats. She was involved with everything her children did, from craft director at girl scout camps to cheering her favorite football kid.

In her later life, she loved to hike with her best friend “Mo” and traveling with their best friend Flo. She lived her life taking care of everyone, and always made everything much more fun.

Mary Ann enjoyed a variety of hobbies throughout her life. She was extremely knowledgeable about antiques, depression glass, and quilting. She enjoyed quilting with her cousin Carol and made quilts for her family and friends based on their interests.

She enjoyed sharing stories and jokes with her grandchildren and was at her best in her role as Nana. Her vivid imagination captured their attention, and her humor kept them giggling.

Mary Ann is survived by husband, Donald Bell of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; her brother, Billy Wadley and wife, Janice of Okmulgee, Oklahoma; her four children that she loved, Peter Bell and wife, Lisa of Jenks, Oklahoma, Beth Abbott and husband, Brian of Merritt Island, Florida, Rebekah Bell and husband, Josh Crocker of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Rachel Bryant and husband, Mike of Hutchinson, Kansas; seven grandchildren that she really, really loved, Nicholette, Talia, Kira, KK, Keelee, Luke and Eve; also her best friend, Flo Holdaway of Rupert, Idaho.

Mary Ann is preceded in death by her parents, Bill Wadley and Rose Anna of Okmulgee, Oklahoma, and her best friend, Thelma Young of Tulsa, Oklahoma.

A celebration of life will be held Thursday afternoon at her home.
