Matthew Joel Factor

Matthew Joel Factor of Shawnee, Oklahoma, passed away from a lengthy illness on June 7, 2023, in Chandler, Oklahoma, at the age of 64 years.

Matthew Joel Factor was born on July 14, 1958, in Keshena, Wisconsin, on the Menominee Reservation, He was enrolled as Menominee and Seminole decent. He was the son of Eastman Joe Factor and Winona Augustine Factor. Matt grew up in Shawnee attending St. Benedict’s School and graduated from Shawnee High School in 1976. He worked at TDK in the powder house. Matt loved all sports; he played basketball for the Shawnee Wolves. He was avid for watching OU Sports and the Chicago Teams. He was very proud of his family and always took care of them in his own way.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eastman and Winona   Factor; one sister, Victoria McGann; one brother, William “Billy” Factor; one sister-in-law, Penny Factor; his nephew, Marshall Dent; and one sister-in-law, Patsy Factor.

He is survived by his brothers, Mike Factor of McAlister, Oklahoma, Glenn Factor of Wisconsin, and Mitch Factor and wife Laura of Keshena, Wisconsin; his sisters, Karen Fullbright and husband Larry of Meeker, Oklahoma, Nanette Hazelwood of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Brenda Tingler and Danny Oliver of North Carolina, and Pam Gettle and husband Mike of Shawnee, Oklahoma.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 15, 2023, at the McElyea and Owens Funeral Home from 5:00 pm till 7:00 pm.

Mass of Christian burial is scheduled for Friday, June 16, 2023, at 1:00 pm at the St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in Shawnee. Burial will be held on Friday, June 30, 2023, at 1:00 pm at the Calvary Cemetery.
