Nancy June (Blackwell) Baysinger, a resident of Norman, Oklahoma passed away in the early morning hours of Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at her home in Norman. She was 76 years old. Nancy was born in Lenexa, Kansas on November 25, 1948 to William Robert Blackwell and Bonnie June (Temple) Blackwell.
Nancy grew up in Kansas and attended high school there, graduating from Olathe, Kansas High School. She later attended Emporia State University where she earned a degree in Biology. Nancy was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother and she will be missed by the many people who knew and loved her. Nancy married the love of her life, Daniel Lewis Baysinger in August of 1970. Nancy was loving, caring, and sassy. She was the Scrabble champion of her family and she spent many hours sewing and quilting. Nancy was a longtime member of the Smores Quilting Group in Norman and providing quilting for hundreds of people. She learned to quilt together many colors and textures, and always created some beautiful works.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father; her husband, Daniel Baysinger; and a brother, Larry Robert Blackwell.
Nancy is survived by a daughter, Jennifer Baysinger of Norman; a son, Geoffrey Lewis Baysinger and partner Darien Baysinger of Bremerton, Washington; two granchildren, Atlas Baysinger and Willow Allen; and her beloved cat "Missy". She is also survived by other extended family, her beloved quilting group members and many good friends.
If heaven needed another quilter, they have one now. We have no doubt she will share her gift with those she meets there. Just by being there, she'll make heaven even better than it is already.
