Paul Warren Harris, a resident of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma passed peacefully from this life on Saturday, April 13, 2024 with his family at his side in McLoud, Oklahoma at the age of 83. Paul was born on May 20, 1940 in Washington DC to Warren Vaughn Harris and Eleanor (Krebs) Harris.
Paul grew up in central Oklahoma. Paul served in the US Navy before his medical discharge. He later worked as a pressman for Norick Brothers Printing Company for over 30 years before his retirement. Paul married the love of his life, Margaret Coy on August 6, 1970 in Midwest City, Oklahoma. They remained happily married for 54 years until his death.
Paul loved racing and was a member of the Sports Car Club of America for many years. He was also involved with Demolay, was a train enthusiast and hobbyist, and liked photography. He enjoyed computers and collecting tools. Paul was a longtime member of Wickline United Methodist Church in Midwest City, and he was a member of the Canterbury Choral Society for over 20 years. He was an accomplished clarinet and saxophone musician as well. But most of all, Paul loved his family and he was a loving son, brother, husband, father and grandfather. And he will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his father, Warren Vaughn Harris and his mother, Eleanor Krebs Harris.
Paul is survived by his wife, Margaret Harris of the home in Oklahoma City; his longtime dog and companion; a daughter, Kristina Harvey and husband Shaun of Canton, Ohio; a sister, Judy Velliquette and husband Richard "Dick" of Colorado Springs, Colorado; a brother, James M. Harris and wife Linda of Oklahoma City; by three grandchildren, Austin Harvey of Ft. Drum, NY, Wyatt Harvey and Gracyn Harvey of Savannah, South Carolina, and Clay Harvey of Canton, Ohio; by two great grandsons, Kenneth Harvey of Liberty, North Carolina and Cannan Harvey, also of Liberty, North Carolina; his best friend, Jack Breimier and wife Nelda of Del City, OK; by other extended family and many good friends.
Arrangements are under the direction of McElyea & Owens Funeral Group of Shawnee, Oklahoma. There are no services planned at this time.
