Phyllis Lynn Bonham of Shawnee, Oklahoma, passed away on March 11, 2025, at the age of 67 years.
Phyllis was born on March 4, 1958, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Bernice and Jaunita (Toupin) Peck. Phyllis was a member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation with a long family lineage and was very proud of her heritage. She enjoyed “solving all the worlds problems” as her friend Vicki would always say. Phyllis enjoyed nature, birds (specifically hummingbirds), grabbing a box of pizza and driving around deer watching, especially during her time in West Virginia. She was obsessed with Toby Keith's music, and she loved sending silly animal videos back and forth to everyone.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Evelyn Queen, and Bonnie Howiler; two brothers, John Peck, and James Peck; and one niece, Hazel Shields.
She is survived by her son, Roy Story of Shawnee; and daughter Tanee Whitaker of Edmond Oklahoma, granddaughter, Myah Story of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and two Grandsons Raymond Whitaker and Ben Whitaker, Her dog Curly; her two cats, bumper, and Milo; one sister, Wilma Bearden; three nieces, Rachele Bearden, Davonia Bearden, and Terri Pritchard; her best friend, Vicki Thomason.
