Ricky Keys, a resident of Shawnee, passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 surrounded by his wife and family at the age of 61. Ricky was born on March 14, 1963 in Wewoka, Oklahoma to Juanita Azlin Dees.
Ricky worked as a jack-of-all-trades for many years. He spent most of his time with his family and friends, where they loved to camp and fish. He thoroughly enjoyed boating and fishing with family and friends. He was a well-known catfish fisherman, when he wasn't falling out of the boat! Ricky always had a smile and was always willing to lend a helping hand to all when needed. He was baptized by Pastor Larry Sparks in 2009. We all know Ricky is now in a better place as he finally got to meet the Lord.
Ricky married the love of his life, Loretta Ann Thomas on November 6, 2004 in Shawnee, OK. Most of all, Ricky was a loving son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather and he will be missed by the many people who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Juanita Dees; his sisters, Charlene Zellers and Donnita Day; his brothers, William Zellers and Jimmie Castoe; and by one son, Josh Keys.
Ricky is survived by his spouse Lorretta Keys of the home; his sons, Wesley Howell of Sapulpa, Jesse Keys of Hinton, OK, Bobby Harris of Alva, and Jeremy Harjo of Oklahoma City; two sisters, Juanita Rivas of Shawnee and Nell Pate of Shawnee; numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren including granddaughter Kaylee Harris of the home; and great granddaughter Ray-Lynn of the home; by other extended family and many good friends.
Viewing will be held at McElyea & Owens Funeral Group, 5106 N Harrison in Shawnee on Thursday, October 10, 2024 from 4pm to 7pm and on Friday from 8:00 am to 8:00pm.
