Shawn David Ball

Shawn David Ball, a resident of Shawnee, passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2022 in Shawnee at the age of 59. Shawn was born on July 9, 1963 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Shawn grew up in Shawnee, attended Shawnee Public Schools and graduated from Shawnee High School in 1983.

In his early years, Shawn spent a great deal of time with his grandmother and grandfather, where he learned many useful skills. Following high school, Shawn became employed as a security guard for Kimberly Clark Corporation. Over the years, Shawn remained active enjoying his love of cars and caring for the many animals he provided for over the years. He worked several years with a maintenance company providing cleaning and maintenance for large commercial buildings.

Shawn was preceded in death by his mother, Sharon Kay Ball who passed in 2013; by his grandparents, Joe and Elsie Ball; his uncle, Floyd Allen Ball; and his aunt, JoAnn White.

He is survived by his sister, Sherry McNew of Tecumseh; by two nieces, Tyrenia Rogers of Shawnee and Skottie McNew of Shawnee; a great nephew, Koltyn Austin of Shawnee; a great niece, Alyxandriya Hodges of Shawnee; by a brother-in-law, Jeff McNew of Shawnee; by numerous cousins, other extended family, and many good friends.

Shawn was a loved son, grandson, brother, and uncle and he will be missed by the many that knew him.

No services are planned at this time. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to McElyea & Owens Funeral Group of Shawnee.
