Shirley Ann Jorns of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, departed this life on March 20, 2023 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 78 years.
Shirley Ann Jorns was born on July 6, 1944, in Turon, Kansas. She was the daughter of Homer Paul and Eileene (Nelson) Jorns. She grew up in Preston, Kansas, where her parents owned and operated the local drug store, she went to Preston Public Schools and in high school she was the drum major, Shirley graduated from Preston High School and then furthered her education at Salt City Business College in Hutchison, Kansas, and then at Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas. Following her education she began her career with Northern Natural Gas working as a right away agent and office manager, she then worked for Williams Brothers Engineering where she was a pipeline inspector. She later moved to Brodheadsville, Pennsylvania, where she was the campground manager for Chestnut Lake Campgrounds. In 2006, she moved back to Oklahoma, and started with PFS Investments where she was the office manager until her retirement. She loved to cook, tell stories and spending time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one son, Michael Kellogg.
She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Scholsberg of Atoka, Oklahoma; four grandsons, Justin Smith, of Wakita, Oklahoma, Jacob Smith of Wakita, Oklahoma, Phillip Smith of Wakita, Oklahoma, and Jerrod Smith of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; six great grandchildren; and one sister, Mary Lou Jorns of Cheyenne, Wyoming.
