Teresa (Fitz) Wallace

Teresa Lee Wallace passed away in Shawnee, Oklahoma, on March 8, 2025. She was born on June 25, 1959, in Ardmore, Oklahoma, to Rodney and Barbara Fitz.
Growing up, Teresa formed a lifelong friendship with Cathy Pelton, as their families took vacations together. Teresa graduated from Wilson High School and later entered the cosmetology field. She began her career as a hairstylist, working for and with her mother. Teresa was in the business for over 30 years.
Teresa was known for being an amazing artist and musician. She loved to draw, paint, play the piano, and sing in her church choir. She especially loved playing on the piano and singing for her granddaughters. Teresa had a keen sense of style and always enjoyed dressing well, reflecting her lovely personality. She cherished spending time with her friend and companion, Mike Roy. Teresa adored her children and grandchildren, often cooking delicious meals for them, doing arts and crafts, and engaging in fierce games of Monopoly, Yahtzee, or Sorry. Not only did she love her kids and grandkids, but she also had a special bond with her dog, Toby. She loved him so much that she even chewed up food for him after he lost all his teeth.
Teresa was also known for her great sense of humor. When her daughters-Amber, Andrea, and Amie-were kids, Teresa would make them her personal "guinea pigs," practicing various hairstyles on them, including perms and mullets. She also enjoyed prank calling her own mother, asking if the beauty salon did "crotch cuts." Not even Teresa's neighbors were safe from her pranks and antics.
Teresa's life will be forever marked by her deep faith in Jesus and her tenacity to live the life she was given. Even after her cancer diagnosis, she remained determined to live life fully. Teresa and one of her best friends, Minnette Ellison, had made plans to visit Teresa's sister, Starla, for a day of golf cart rides and a picnic. On her last day, Teresa was surrounded by those she loved most, and together they prayed earnestly and wholeheartedly to Jesus.
Teresa is preceded in death by her father, Rodney Kendall Fitz; her mother, Barbara Jean Fitz; and her two sisters, Marsha Stephens and Gayla Fitz.
She is survived by her daughters, Amber Waswo and her children: Ethan, Colt, Scarlett, and Violet of Cashion, Oklahoma; Andrea and Brenton McGee and their son Trey Moss of Moore, Oklahoma; and Amie and Daniel Solis and their children Kaylyn and Klayton of Shawnee, Oklahoma. Teresa is also survived by her sister, Starla and Robert Brown of Kingston, Oklahoma, as well as various life-long and cherished friends, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
