Tracy Michelle Smith-Ferrell

Tracy “Michelle” Smith-Ferrell of Shawnee, Oklahoma, passed away on March 21, 2023, in Shawnee at the age of 56 years.

Tracy Michelle Smith-Ferrell was born on July 16, 1966, in Lawton, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Marion Frank Smith Jr. and Josie Anita (Newsom) Smith. She grew up in the Lawton area and attended Burkburnett Public Schools graduating from Burkburnett High School in 1984. Following her education she began her career as an office manager for a pallet company and then a Dental Company. She later moved to Shawnee and began as a receptionist and later office manager for Dr. Clinton and Dr. Conaway. She was a pianist and music leader at Open Door Church of God, Michelle loved to play the piano and played at Johnson Church of God and numerous other churches. On November 6, 2004, she married Mark Ferrell at Open Door Church of God. She enjoyed singing and loved serving her Lord and Savior.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Josie Anita Smith; her maternal grandparents; and her paternal grandparents, Rev. Frank Smith Sr., Pauline Smith.

She is survived by her husband, Mark Ferrell of Shawnee; and her father, Frank Smith Jr.  and wife Gracie of Tecumseh.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at the McElyea and Owens Funeral Home from 9:00 am till 5:00 pm and on Sunday from 1:00 pm till 7 :00 pm, On Sunday March 26th the family will be at the funeral home to greet friends from 3:00 pm till 5:00 pm.

Funeral Services are scheduled for Monday, March 27, 2023, at 11:00 am at Living Word Church, with Rev. Charles Sutton officiating. Burial will follow in the Johnson Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of McElyea and Owens Funeral Home.
