Vicki D Rockwell
December 10, 1958 ~ January 27, 2024 (age 65) 65 Years Old
Vicki Denise (Massengale) Rockwell peacefully passed into eternity on January 27, 2024. She was born on December 10, 1958 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Darrell D. Massengale and Barbara A. Lane Massengale. She resided in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Vicki was the oldest of three children. She was a resilient individual who embraced her journey of recovery and found solace in her faith in Jesus, spreading love and encouraging others to live their lives to the fullest in His name.
Vicki was preceded in death by her earthly father, mother, and infant child, Jessica. She is survived by her siblings, Carla Earnest and Darrell Massengale; her children, Stephanie Nana, Ed McManus, Angela Johnson, Roseanna Rockwell, Frannie Jane Johnston, Alliz Massengale, and Levi Massengale; 12 grandchildren, two uncles, one aunt, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Throughout her life, Vicki faced numerous challenges, but it was her victories that we want to celebrate and remember. Despite the obstacles she encountered, she persevered and emerged as an incredible source of strength and inspiration for those around her. As we reflect on her life and the hope she found in Jesus, we are reminded of the words from Psalm 46:1, "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble." Vicki found solace and strength in knowing that God was always with her, guiding her through her journey.
On her death bed, Vicki experienced a remarkable moment of restoration, as all her children who could attend were gathered by her side. This profound gathering offered her immense healing and restoration not only for her children but her siblings as well as they lovingly surrounded her. In her final days, she found courage and hope, knowing that her journey on Earth was a testament to her strength and resilience. The bond between Vicki and her children reflected the truth of Ecclesiastes 4:9-10, "Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, o ne can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up." In the embrace of her children, Vicki found the support and encouragement she needed to face her fears and embrace the hope of a new journey transitioning from this life into the next.
Vicki had a profound love for animals, nature, and possessed a green thumb. She nurtured and cared for plants, creating an oasis of beauty wherever she went. Her love for nature was a testament to her appreciation of the simple joys in life. She cherished moments spent by the lake, fishing and basking in the tranquility of the water. In the beauty of nature, Vicki found peace and a connection to God's creation, as described in Psalm 19:1, "The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands."
Above all, Vicki had a deep and unwavering love for her Savior, Jesus Christ. Her faith was the foundation of her strength and the driving force behind her journey of recovery. Through her relationship with Jesus, she found redemption and a renewed sense of purpose. Her victories in overcoming self-destructive patterns and finding her worth in Him serve as a powerful reminder of the transformative power of faith. As Romans 12:2 reminds us, "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is-his good, pleasing and perfect will." Vicki's life exemplified this transformation, as she embraced a new understanding of her worth and purpose in Jesus.
Vicki Denise (Massengale) Rockwell will be deeply missed, but her victories will forever serve as a reminder of the resilience and power within each one of us. Her life was a testament to the triumph of the human spirit, and we honor and celebrate the victories she achieved in the face of adversity. As we mourn her passing, we find comfort in the words of Isaiah 41:10, "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."
In accordance with Vicki's wishes, there will be no funeral services. Instead, her family plans to hold a joyous celebration of life, a testament to the victories she achieved throughout her time on Earth. This event will be a reflection of her unwavering faith, love for nature, and her ability to find strength in the face of adversity.
