William Alva Shelton

William Alva Shelton, a resident of Newalla, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at the age of 74. William was born on February 10, 1951 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Joseph Milton Shelton and Carrie May (Sumrall) Shelton.

William grew up and attended Oklahoma City Public Schools, graduating from Putnam City High School. He was an accomplished musician, and amazed people with his remarkable musical abilities. He played in several bands over the years where he played drums, guitar, and keyboards,

William was married to Lisa D. Aloughridge in Carol County, Arkansas on July 25, 1996. They remained married for 29 years until his death.

He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Joseph M Shelton and Carrie May Shelton; and by a sister, Martha Stuart.

He is survived by Lisa Shelton of the home and by a son, Ben Lackey & wife Trista of Shawnee; and by numerous grandchildren.

The family will have a memorial service at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of McElyea & Owens Funeral Group of Shawnee, OK.
